Eph 6:10-20. Dan Kroon. The reason so many people have quiet times in the morning is because it equips them for the day ahead. It’s like the act of getting dressed – it helps to prepare you for whatever’s in store. All the things we’ve discussed in this series – pausing, reading, prayer, meditation – they’re all meant to help us live life and equip us for the journey. But even more than that, they ‘arm’ us for the battle. The battle we face every day. The battle going on all around us. The battle we so easily forget exists. Paul’s reminder in Eph 6 is constantly needed. Recognising the reality of spiritual warfare is itself a spiritual battle. There is far more danger in our path than we think. We need to be prepared, armed and equipped for the battle, not in our own strength, but in God’s power; not with our own armour, but with the armour of God.
